We’ve worked with Arts Derbyshire for years and years in an editorial and website development project management function. The most recent development in the life of this organisation has been the set up of a registered Charity to govern the brand, so onwards we go!
Destination Digital’s Debbie Porter first got involved with Arts Derbyshire many years ago as a web design and build project manager to help them launch their first website in 2006. In the intervening years, Debbie has remained a part of the project in one way or another, moving into an Editorial and first line support role, helping the organisation to make its first foray on social media when Twitter had just become a thing and people were trying out Facebook for business meaningfully for the first time. She has applied for Google Ads for nonprofits grants, signed the organisation up for other charity fundraisers such as Amazon Smile, Give As you Live, Paypal Donate and Facebook Charity. Over the years, Debbie has migrated the website 4 times, each time vowing that this time would be the last time!
The organisation today is a registered charity with the Charities Commission and has shifted into its most recent phase, guided by some of Derbyshire’s most influential arts organisations as its Board of Trustees. Strategically, it has a focus on connecting audiences with artists and arts organisations in the county, with the aim of increasing footfall at events and spend within the local creative industries community.
We offer a solid backstop to keep the charity’s website and social presence running smoothly to help share on information about the range of arts projects run by the charity, as well as celebrate the varied and vibrant local arts and crafts scene. We turn our hand to most things, with a flexibility of approach being key.
Services include: Web development project management, Google Ads for charities application and ongoing management, editorial support, social media management and numerous reporting, administrative and other functions to help smooth the operations of the Arts Derbyshire digital presence.
The results: It’s hard to pin this down to just a one-liner. Arts Derbyshire has been brought into existence and has weathered many storms over the years due to public sector funding cuts and a shape shifting of the infrastructure that was originally in place when the website was first launched. It is a brand that lives on today offering support to thousands of small businesses and sole traders across the county. It is a key jigsaw puzzle piece in the local cultural scene and long may it continue!
