Soil Acoustics’ pioneering ecoacoustics research has been the overnight success that has been years in the making. Soil health is a global issue, influencing crop yields, food security, carbon sequestration and ultimately the health of the whole ecosystem. Recognising this some years ago, and after heavy investment in developing a hand held unit, a huge science-led database and securing key partnerships with sector organisations, Soil Acoustics finally launched to market in 2025. And we were there to help them along the way.
The Soil Acoustics Meter (SAM for short) is a world-first. We predict it’ll transform agricultural monitoring practices and is definitely a disruptive technology you need to keep an eye on.
We’ve known the team behind the SAM for a long time now, and so have been in it from the start, helping them to strategise their go-to-market plan. This has included many things that have nothing to do with digital marketing, including helping out the team on the RHS Chelsea Main Avenue garden in 2023 when they were featured as part of the Royal Entomological Society’s garden and science lab display. From helping dig up worms and wood louse in the farther reaches of the undergrowth of the Chelsea site, to receiving guests onto the stand on Press Day and helping them to understand what the SAM could do, and into helping make contact with Tim Mead, of Yeo Valley farm. This fortuitous meeting led onto a data collection collaboration with the Yeo Valley farm collective, which was a fantastic new agricultural contact to make. As the past handful of years have moved on, we’ve had a part to play in many moments for this brand along the way.
Our actual job is to help with digital marketing strategy and implementation. So we have helped put email automations in place, developed content that helps the brand gain attention for the concept of soil acoustics monitoring and to make a start in the development of an audience on social media channels too.
We are only at the start of this journey, and there are many more moments still to come. Mark our words. You will want to watch this space!
