Tuin UK is the sole UK importer and distributor of high-quality garden timber products for Tuindeco International BV. Tuin supply garden buildings, decking, hot tubs, garden saunas, timber, fencing, garden furniture, gazebos, log cabins, summerhouses and pergolas to consumers across the UK.
We were brought on board with a very broad remit. Initially asked to audit the UK website post-migration and take a look at pain points for the brand, we soon began developing commercially driven marketing KPIs to monitor performance and impact, and to guide each move.
Having put in place a series of technical, content architecture and on-page SEO fixes, our aim was to recover SEO rankings and uplift inbound traffic through organic as well as paid methods. We were also asked to work on bringing PPC spend in alignment with ROAS targets, where ROAS targeting had to correlate positively with revenue to spend ratio targets. With a long consideration period by consumers, and the natural leaning towards making multiple points of contact with the brand before committing to buy this was an involved piece of work, requiring us to deep-dive into a lot of data to pull together a sense of the customer journey.
We layered email marketing, social media marketing and content marketing on top of this to improve distribution, resulting in a 74% increase in Google impressions, and a 66% increase in clicks, alongside a 222% increase in Bing impresseions and a 249% increase in clicks.
Working through the navigational structure and categorisation of thousands of SKUs, the labelling of products and Shopping feed optimisation activities, and mapping out marketing communications to a metronomic pace has brought order and structure that allows the internal team to work within an established framework and continue on from these foundations.
The final digital marketing puzzle piece to slot in has been to automate communications with the customers via Netsuite CRM.
We have also matrix consulted on TV, print, affiliate and postal distributions, making this a rounded and full marketing-mix job that’s been as hardworking and challenging as it has been fulfilling!
