Destination Digital

Ready for Another Round of Business Networking in Bakewell?

Last month, we were thrilled to co-host what ended up being an amazing face-to-face networking event in Bakewell with the Peak District National Park Authority and the FSB. In fact, it went so well that we’re hosting another one this month on Wednesday 26 April! So, if you came last time… we hope you’ve been mastering your rock, paper, scissors skills.

It was an amazing feeling to be able to bring face-to-face networking back to Bakewell last month, and after attending so many networking events in the last year or so, it was great to finally be the host! We had such positive feedback after last month’s event that we’ve decided to do it all over again on Wednesday 26 April.

So, once again, we’re joining forces with our friends from the Peak District National Park Authority and the FSB for another face-to-face networking event in Destination Digital’s hometown of Bakewell. And yes, there’ll be cake!

The March event welcomed keynote speaker, Colin Mobey, a mindset coach from the local business community, who came to speak about paradoxes in building effective teams. This might sound hi-falutin’ but he kicked off the session with a spirited ice-breaker game of rock-paper-scissors, putting everyone in competition with each other to help illustrate his session and highlight the difference in mindset between ‘winners’ and ‘losers’ and how most of us in the room were both at some point in the evening. The ‘grand final’ can be seen below with Debbie pitched against Phil Mulligan, CEO of Peak District National Park.

Our April speaker is Marion Parrish,The Accidental Manager Coach, who will be talking about the impact managers can make on their teams – for better or for worse.

Who is this business networking event for?

Anyone from any kind of business is welcome to come along to the event. Our second event in Bakewell will be a wonderful opportunity to meet other businesses, big and small, and discover new ways in which we can support each other and find new connections in the local area.

So, whether you’re looking for some new clients, want to broaden your horizons or simply meet new people and businesses from the local area, then please come along!

When is the event?

The networking event will be held at the Peak District National Park headquarters on 26 March from 5pm-6:30pm. You will be hosted by FSB Membership Advisor Ian Pownall and Debbie Porter.

The address is: Aldern House, Baslow Road, Bakewell, DE45 1AE

Free parking is available at the venue which is fully accessible.
