HECK Have Been Winning Big This Year

We love to celebrate our client’s successes, and we’re happy to share the news that Heck‘s new Steak & Butter Burgers have won Best New Product at the Great British Food Awards 2022!

HECK’s Roddy Keeble’s indulgent recipe wowed the judges at this year’s awards, and we’re not surprised! Made with prime British steak, a generous dollop of butter and special homemade seasoning, the Steak & Butter burger flew off the shelves at Tesco this summer and is now available in Tesco and Morrisons supermarkets across the UK.

What’s more, Heck’s Steak & Butter Burgers, 97% Pork Sausages and Meat Free Chipolatas were each awarded 1 star at the Great Taste Awards 2022. The Great Taste Awards are the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme, organised by the Guild of Fine Food.

The Steak & Butter Burgers earned glowing feedback from the panel of judges:

“Great caramelisation on the outside of this tasty burger. Lovely beefy notes with a juicy and succulent centre – only enhanced by the addition of butter. Good seasoning too – all in all a very pleasant and delicious burger”.

The awards don’t stop there for HECK, as their own Charlene Sedgwick took a top prize at the National Egg & Poultry Awards, winning young processor of the year! Charlene has been with HECK for 10 years, since she was just 19 years old, starting on the packing line and now working in the production office.

Charlene said “To win any award is a great achievement, but this one means so much to me because it is one of three specifically designed to recognise young talent in the poultry sector. I started working on the production line at HECK when I was just 19 and I’m still here 10 years later because it’s such a fun and flexible place to work. I get to work with family and friends, and in an industry I love, so it doesn’t get much better than that.”

HECK’s marketing team also bagged an award this month, winning gold with the Team of the Year award at the UK Business Awards.

Becky Keeble, a member of HECK’s marketing team, said “We are a young team and love to think outside the box and make things happen. We’re all friends and family, some have even known each other since primary school, so we have a real bond and winning this award is special because it’s recognition of all the hard work and effort from everyone on the team.”
