Next up, we’ll be joined by Gary Knowles, Creative Director of Snow Elk Productions and Filmmaking Programme Leader at Futureworks. Gary’s no stranger to the FSB events in Bakewell, but this will be his first time taking to the stage, and we can’t wait to hear from him!
We first met Gary at another of our regular attendee’s business expo — Emily Coy’s Chesterfield Business Expo. He and the Snow Elk Productions team had a stand at the event and were running a prize draw to win a free spot on one of their smartphone video-making workshops. Naturally, we couldn’t resist popping our name in the bowl! A short while later, we got the call—our name had been picked, and off Rachel went to sharpen her video skills for social media. She came back full of praise for the session, so we know first-hand just how valuable Gary’s insights are. With so many of us creating content on our phones these days, his upcoming talk is sure to be a must-attend.

March saw the start of our exciting new collaboration with Business Peak District, and we were joined by their Chair, Peter Dewhurst, along with guest speaker Faith Johnson, Director of The Environmental Quality Mark. Faith shared some fantastic, practical advice on how businesses can reduce their carbon footprint and cut down on energy costs, insights that sparked plenty of discussion among attendees!
It was great to open up the room to discussions focused on the real issues facing local businesses in the Peak District, and a great opportunity to be part of a bigger conversation about rural enterprise.
