Look at our flexible tripod!

Get A Take-Anywhere Flexible Tripod for Your iPhone

Tripods are a fantastic first-buy for iPhones to help you take stable shots photographically and on video, or that will help you self-record.  Whilst leaning your phone against a wall or propping it up with something close to hand is perfectly acceptable too, having a tripod with flexible legs allows you to securely hold your phone and attach it to chair legs, poles, uneven surfaces, around the branches of trees… the opportunities are endless!  What’s more, these tripods are small enough to pop in your pocket.

A top pick for flexible and stable setup, the Joby GripTight GorillaPod Pro 2 or 3 tripod is ideal for content creators. For a more wallet-friendly version, try this Ailun Tripod Mount, compatible with iPhones 11-16, that is under £10.

Look at our DJI Osmo Mobile6 Gimbal!

Stabilise Your Video Footage with an iPhone Gimbal

For smooth, cinematic footage, the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 or 7 is considered the benchmark for iPhone gimbals, thanks to its 3‑axis stabilization, reliable DJI Mimo app, and built‑in tripod.

Although iPhones already smooth out video footage with internally built anti-shake tech, adding a Gimbal to your set up will ensure you get the money-shot in the bag without those awkward shakes on longer-shot scenes. An investment worth making.

We use the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Gimbal BTW 😉

Look at our Tiny Mic!

Microphones & Audio For Crisp Audio

We have this one – the HMKCH Wireless Lavalier Microphone – compatible with iphones, but also Android phones, tablets and computers (to next level that next conference call!).

In the box is a clip to attach it as a lapel mic, or you can get with the whole ‘tiny mic’ trend when interviewing people with it.

Invest in a USB storage stick for your smart phone

Make Sure To Pack Portable Power & Storage When On The Go

This USB storage stick for smart phones is bl**dy brilliant!

Although we’ve had the Dropbox app on our phones for ages to help us upload images and footage to our network, sometimes it can take ages, especially if you are onsite for a client somewhere and need to use that creative quickly.

Apple have always charged a premium for larger storage on their phones – with no additional processing power or RAM that comes with those heftier prices. So we are all paying a premium for the privilege of extra storage, which, in the world of laptops is dirt cheap and feels like a bit of a con.

So, to have a USB stick to pop into the end of your phone’s lightning port, and a USB port at the other end to then stick into your laptop once you have transferred your images to it, is a time saver as well as a phone storage saver… and that translates to being a money-saver too!

When you have a heavy day of photography or filming ahead of you, then you will also thank yourself for packing a decent charger too.  For the fastest charging you need a power bank that is at least 20,000mAh, like this JIGA 27,000mAh Powerbank, or this Belkin 20,000mAh Powerbank.

Carry it around in your bag and you have a power-replenished phone after a day’s heavy usage, filling up your camera roll.  We’ve thanked the heavens many times for our powerbanks, for enabling us to tap our cards through the London Underground or for showing our tickets on the train. No one needs to run the gauntlet on a phone that’s on 2%!

Clip On Lighting and Mini LED Options

There are so many lighting options on offer for making the most of your photography, but if you are out and about, and natural light is limited, a clip-on light is a really handy accessory to pack in your bag.

The RealPlus Phone Light is a relatively large clip on for phone, laptop and even camera, and has a range of colour options to help elevate the scene you are trying to capture.

You can go for the classic ring light like this desktop ring light or this ring light on a tripod, though neither are great if you wear glasses and want to use this for piece-to-camera shots, and so you’ll instead be looking for a more diffuse light.

Look at our two-in-one tripod!

Heavier Duty Tripods

When it comes to heavier duty tripods, there are a lot of choices out there, so we thought we would narrow the choices down for you. This two-in-one tripod is so good, we’ve bought it twice!  It’s a sturdy tripod with extendable legs to give you plenty of choices of height, and there is a handy-dandy overhead option, which makes it perfect for taking overhead product shots or POV flat-lay demonstrations and stop motions.

We also love this tripod with quick release plates to help us switch between smart phone and the ‘proper camera’ without having to unscrew the fixings on the top of the tripod. It also has a smooth rotational head for smooth video panning.
