The Horatio’s Garden Fundraising Art Auction Is Now Open!

Client Griffin Glasshouses have worked in partnership with Horatio’s Garden for many years, supplying glasshouses into their inspirational gardens in Spinal Injuries Units. They’ve also helped contribute to the charity’s big online art auction that will raise much-needed funds for this wonderful charity. Read on!

We have a wonderful client in Griffin Glasshouse, who work with a number of different charities, including Plant Heritage and the National Gardens Scheme. They are also partnered with a really worthy charity called Horatio’s Garden who create gardens and therapeutic spaces for patients of Spinal Injuries Units across the UK.

Last year, the Griffin team hosted a charity fundraising event, where a painting was created at RHS Chelsea 2022 by ‘Wonky Artist’ Rachel Smith with the help of some celeb friends. We were there on hand (literally) chasing down celebrities from TV, film, radio and print to help contribute to this painting who’d come to see the show on Press Day, persuading big names such as Darcey Bussell, Rick Stein, Charlotte Church and Nigel Slater to participate in contributing to the painting.

Rachel took the painting home and finished it off. Griffin Glasshouse MD, Linda Lane, then got the painting framed amend produced a look-book of photos of the celebrities who took part. This painting was presented to Dr Olivia Chappel of Horatio’s Garden at RHS Chelsea 2023.

The painting has now been included in the Horatio’s Garden Autumn Art Auction. Bids opened on the 13^th of October and will remain open until the 29^th of October where the art pieces on offer will help fundraise towards the charity’s gardens’ upkeep as well as to the build costs of the two in-build gardens at Belfast and Sheffield.

Over 70 of the UK’s leading artists including Maggi Hambling, Sean Henry, Sophie Tea, Phoebe Dickinson, Sophie Ryder, Jill Berelowitz, Patrick Morales-Lee, Jemma Powell and Sir Quentin Blake have donated works.   If you are an art collector, or you just fancy checking out the catalogue to see if there is anything you’d fancy bidding on, then take a look at the wide range on offer, knowing you are supporting the development of therapeutic care for long-term patients in the UK’s Spinal Injuries Units.
