Debbie to Join Expert Panel at Business Peak District’s AGM

We are thrilled to announce that our Managing Director, Debbie Porter, will on the panel of experts at this year’s Business Peak District Annual General Meeting (AGM). The event is set to take place on 15 October at the iconic Palace Hotel in Buxton, and we couldn’t be more excited to see Debbie share her expertise alongside other business leaders in the Peak District.

The Business Peak District AGM is a key event on the local business calendar, bringing together a mix of business people from across the area – including us here at Destination Digital. Business Peak District’s focus is to support businesses in the Peak District to be innovative, inspiring, inclusive, accessible, sustainable and supportive of the communities and environment within which they operate. This will be the main topic at the AGM, where discussions will take place about what support needs to be put in place to assist the valuable businesses located within the Peak District National Park.

Our Business Roots in the Peak District

Debbie has conducted business in the Peak District for many years, and so has a profound understanding of the business landscape. Debbie and the team here at Destination Digital do many things to help support local businesses, with events such as the FSB networking events that Debbie, who is an FSB volunteer, host every month. Alongside this, she has also been delivering social media workshops on behalf of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire and High Peak Borough Council to help local creators and makers in the High Peak area.

What’s on the Agenda at BPD’s AGM?

Up first at the event, Business Peak District will launch the BPD Concordat which will set out six priorities and will serve as the focus of the lobbying activities over the coming years.

After this exciting launch of the Concordat, Debbie will then sit on the panel of experts who are on hand to answer questions from attendees and raise key issues during this skills-focused discussion and Q&A. The panel will include many business leaders and big names from across the Peak District, including Jo Dilley, Managing Director of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire and Vince Middleton OBE, Chairman at NE Components.

And to finish off the evening on a high, there will be a networking session to provide attendees with the opportunity to engage with other Peak District based businesses and business leaders, whilst forging valuable collaboration opportunities.
